Our Cast

Below are the courts The Guilde of Sainte Marie portrays

When formed in 2003, the purpose of the Guilde of Sainte Marie was to expand the common knowledge of the renaissance royal courts to those on the continent, specifically the 15th century French House of Valois. For 20 years we faithfully portrayed the Court of Henri III, with his mother the indomitable Catherine de Medicis, and his conniving siblings Margot of Navarre and Francois de Alencon. Occasionally we even got to bring to life the Court of Francois I, as a rival to Henry VIII of England.

As we all know, the world dramatically changed in 2020, and with the loss of several events, it seems that our current casting has been focused primarily on the English Tudor courts of the 15th century. In 2025 after the ending of the “French marriage” storyline with our English cast, it was decided that at least one member of Ste. Marie would portray a French noble – so our guilde master stepped into the role of le ambassadeur.

The guilde still plays at three events a year – a far cry from the 10+ events we started with long ago. Only four remain of the original Charter Members, so this proves the adage that the “only constant in the Universe is change.”

The following casting reflects the current lived reality of the Guilde of Sainte Marie, with the castings reflecting the faire that they are portrayed at.

To honor the hard work and history of the the previous courts we've portrayed, we also include a section of “legacy" casts from years past.
